Re-pad
This service consists of the installation of new pads on your saxophone. Re-padding is not a Mechanical Overhaul, so your saxophone should be in good working order prior to re-padding. All actions described in our P.C. will be undertaken as well. Turnaround time is usually 8 -12 days.
Re-pad includes the following:
- Inspect saxophone and notate all key height openings
- Use pads appropriate to the instrument - resonators will be plastic
- Installation of oversize/custom pads and resonators available at customer request and expense
- Bathe the body, goose neck and keys
- Degrease mechanisms
- Repair dents that cause key binding
- Replace springs as required - up to 3 within re-pad fee
- Replace neck and key corks as required
- Align and seat pads
- Lubricate saxophone
- Play test saxophone
Schedule of Fees
Prices start from:
- Student level soprano: $300
- Student level alto: $250
- Student level tenor: $300
- Student level baritone: discussion with the Technician is required prior to shipment
- Intermediate or pre-professional soprano: $350
- Intermediate or pre-professional alto: $300
- Intermediate or pre-professional tenor: $350
- Intermediate or pre-professional baritone: discussion with the Technician is required prior to shipment
All professional series saxophone repair require discussion with the Technician prior to shipment

**Note: Any and all excessive key fitting/dent work/tone hole leveling will be billed at $60/hr.**
The Balanced Scale reserves the right to refuse service due to nonavailability of parts associated with some entry level and student line instruments.
