Nowadays, most mouthpieces are mass produced which makes them economical to produce and profitable to sell. However, because they are mass produced, they often have irregularities in the facing curve, rails, and/or table.
These shortcomings may cause the mouthpiece to respond unfavorably with lackluster tone, little projection, unresponsiveness, and even squeaking and squealing! Facing chart

Fixing these problems is the Baseline Service for mouthpiece refacing: correcting the irregularities caused during the manufacturing process.

Tailoring a mouthpiece to your specific needs takes the refacing process one step further by altering the basic geometry of the mouthpiece. This adds the measuring of the mouthpiece to provide a “baseline” for the changes that you are seeking.

Schedule of fees
Prices start from:

  • Baseline service: $60
  • Bite plate replacement: $25
  • Shank/tip repairs and banding for cracks and breaks: $40
  • Baffle addition: discussion with the Technician is required
  • Geometric changes to table, rails and/or curve: discussion with the Technician is required prior to shipment
Ergonomic changes, custom key work, headjoint and mouthpiece alterations are done only after consultation.
